Let’s face it, the tiny cyclocomputers are for noobs! If you want to clearly see your statistics or learn how to properly ride a stationary exercise bike, the Peloton product is exactly what you need.
The creators of this product believe that they have perfectly combined fitness and technology by being “vertically integrated”.”In other words, they have developed both the hardware and software for the platform, “” just like Apple.”Now I’m far from being an apple lover, but this start-up is far from it, and I really think that such a statement denotes a little arrogance.
This is exactly what the developers of the stationary Peloton exercise bike have to say for themselves: “The Peloton bike was developed from scratch in New York and merges with modern technology-and so there is nothing else. With a virtually silent belt drive system and a magnetic resistance flywheel, this bike rides smoothly and quietly. And its carbon steel monocoque construction provides incredible strength and stability while maintaining the soft curves that make Peloton a perfect addition to any room in your home.”
The bike is equipped with a 21.5 ” Full HD multitouch console that displays bike courses and studio statistics on demand when connected to your home’s Wi-Fi network. Of course, this stationary bike includes some cool features, but imho the 21.5 Android 4.1 jelly bean tablet is not one of them.
The Peloton exercise bike is currently being unveiled on Kickstarter, where its developers hope to raise the necessary funds to turn their concept into something commercially available. Oddly enough, at the time of the press, the project had raised on the final goal of 250,000 in just 3 days since the launch of the campaign. With another 27 days, I would say that this project has a great opportunity to be funded.
My advice? Guys, buy a real bike already! Roll it through the forest, roll it through the streets of your city, just roll it outside instead of staying inside all day, train like a hamster in a wheel and claim that the experience you are experiencing is from another world! No, a 21.5 screen will not make it better! You need fresh air so that your brain gets oxygen properly during exercise. In addition, driving a real bike will train your reflexes. Of course, accidents can happen and you can have some bruises, if you do not wear suitable equipment, it’s all part of the real world!
