More and more people have already “cut the cord” when it comes to home entertainment, so why not make life more convenient and easier for your ears with your smartphones and tablets? If you are active or constantly on the go and you are a modern Android user, Google may have the answer you are looking for. No, not the search engine, but the Google Pixel Buds 2.
More than just a set of headphones, the offering of the second – generation search engine giant is completely wireless-and smart, too. They are designed to be easy to use and enhance your chat and listening experience and integrate features, some of which are known to Google, others that you can expect to be available only for use at home or in the office.
They feature an aesthetic button-shaped top with winged rubber tips with stabilizing arches that gently press on the inner edge of your ear for a comfortable and comfortable fit. They are also resistant to sweat and splashing water in case they get caught in the rain.
And unlike clumsy headphones, they are compact and easy to carry and store in a smaller charging set than the palm of your hand. The case contains built-in magnets, so you just drop your buds, and they fall properly in place. In total, the package weighs only 67 grams.
They are also easy to use.
Auto-paring allows you to simply open the case, and your phone automatically detects your pixel buds. They can be controlled in several ways, including simple taps or sweeps on the buds themselves. You can also use Google Assistant, which is triggered by pressing and holding the handset, or simply say something like: “Hey Google, what’s the temperature outside?”
The Pixel Buds companion app gives you more features, including monitoring the battery level of the buds as well as the battery level in your case. In this way, you will know at a glance how much energy you have left, as well as additional commands to set up or activate or deactivate.
One of these features is “Find my Buds”, where you can determine your location – where you leave them or send a signal that rings them. Another is in-ear detection, which pauses your audio when you remove it from your ear, handy when you need to stop and talk to someone. The audio will then resume when you put it back in place.
Another feature, adaptive sound, casually and automatically adjusts the volume to suit your environment. This can be especially convenient if, say, you are moving from a quiet place to a noisy street. It’s important to note that the design of the buds themselves allows for some noise reduction for spatial awareness – like a car horn – but don’t have active noise cancellation like Apple’s AirPods, which have circuits specifically designed to eliminate outside noise. If you like to listen with the volume, you may find that they are as loud as the headphones.
In addition to listening, the Pixel Buds 2 are also optimized for phone calls. Surprisingly, their Dual-beam microphones are able to focus on your voice. Meanwhile, the speech recognition accelerometer will detect the resonant sounds of your jaw to distinguish it from the background noise.
Pixel Buds 2 also supports on-the-fly translation in conjunction with the Google Translate app. By simply tapping on your buds and saying, for example,” help me talk, ” you can continue a conversation with someone in another language.
The battery life of the headphones can listen for up to five hours or talk for 2.5 hours. With a fully charged case, you can listen for up to 24 hours and talk for 12 hours without charging. If at an inopportune moment you run out of juice, then with a 10-minute quick charge you can listen for two more hours or talk for an hour.
Google Pixel Buds 2 are designed for use with Android devices of new models with 6.0 or higher. They work pretty well on an iPhone or iPad, but if you only own Apple devices, that would be overkill. You won’t be able to take advantage of most of the advanced features it offers if you’re an iOS user.
